6. Comments are optional (basic)

Commenting allows visitors to leave a comment about the blog entry they have read. Comments have a name (set by the visitor) and date (set by the server).
Although the Name gives a level of anonymity to other visitors, the person leaving a comment can only do so if they supply a valid email address, which is not displayed on blog pages. Having a valid email address from a visitor allows you to address a particularly sensitive comment privately, while helping to prevent bots from spamming your blog.
Locking out Comments
The commenting feature can be enabled/disabled on a blog entry basis. Comments can also be edited and deleted.
View the latest comments
Blog owners will be alerted to new comments by noting the number in brackets (left column underneath category links). This shows the total number of comments recorded in the database. Click on the number to visit a list the most recent comments. The default number is 20, this can be adjusted via the config file. The comments are displayed as:
